Jason Miesse
Lead and backup vocals

Vocal tracks are laid down by Jason who is small in stature but has an incredible gravely tone and pitch that will bring Layne Staley from "Alice and Chains" and Eddie Vedder from "Pearl Jam" to mind.

Past projects include Deep Down Inc. DDI was nominated as a finalist in the Texans' House Band search of 2006 and performed in front of 8000 people at Reliant Stadium. Decembcer 2006 DDI performed at SPI Rockfest and scored 6th out of 34 bands. This contest was judged by MTV.
Sally Vee
Lead and backup vocals

I pride myself on capturing the audience's attention with an incredibly energetic stage presence that is the product of my 12 years as a performing vocalist. The fusion of my rhythmic body movement and unique vocal style is what sets me apart from the rest.

From the first note you will feel the power of what can only be described as 80s Pop meets Modern Rock -- cute yet edgy, raspy yet passionate. A prominent influence of the 80s radiates throughout my performance both in clothing style and attitude.

And now as the newest member of 80 Proof the lineup is complete for the hottest 80's cover band in Houston. So step up because it's time to rock!

Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals

I got my first guitar in middle school. I played it every chance I got. It was an acoustic and then in High School I got an electric, it was not much to look at but, who cared it was electric. I had my first band in 1984 we were called Irridium. We played Heavy Metal covers and lots of original garage band type music. At that age that's about all you can do. After college in 1992 I moved to Austin the "Live Music Capital of the World", I have been playing both studio and live performances ever since. I have played in many, many bands but, this is the first band I have devoted my love of the 80's to.

I love old school Metal, Rock and lots of the great pop songs of the 80's. If I could I would travel back in time and live in the decade of the 80's for as long as I stand it.

When I am not playing music I love to get away to Colorado or New Mexico and ski in the winter. I am a animal lover, especially dogs. I like people who are intellectual and have a love for athletics.

My favorite memory is jumping around my room with my mom's broom pretending I was Ace Frehley from Kiss. I always got in trouble because when I put the broom back I had worn away half of the straw. My favorite bands from the 80's were Poison, Skid Row, AC/DC, SRV, and many , many others......

Bass

I have been a musician since my early years. Started outplaying tuba in high school concert and marching bands and never looked back on my love of music. Have been playing bass guitar for seventeen years now and always learning something new every week.

Besides my love of music - I love running. I have run three half-marathons and I am working on running a full marathon soon. So if you see me running around onstage I'm just doing marathon training. Also am a huge Batman fan - comics, collectibles, movies, toys. If it's Batman - I'm all over it. I have been collecting Batman comics since the mid-80's.

Keyboards, backing vocals, auxiliary percussion

Been playing keyboard seriously since 1999. First steady gig was with Beaumont-based jazz combo "Blue Progression," which lasted 3 years; also played with Beaumont-based funk band "Homer and the Damn Horns" during the same time period. Have played bass and keyboard with a variety of other short-lived jazz and rock bands in the Beaumont and Dallas areas since 1996. Been singing about as long as I can remember.

I love 80s music!

Drums

Around age 10, I would take the cracker tin out of the pantry and the cardboard off of 2 coat hangers. Then I would put dad's headphones on and pound out the beats to the likes of Toto, Boston, Cheap Trick, Kiss, Bee Gees and yes even some disco! Haha! When I saw the late Eric Carr from KISS live on the Creatures Of The Night Tour with his drums sitting inside a rotating tank turret I realized I wanted to play the drums live in front of people!

At age 13, after not having any coat hangers left in the house, Dad, (who was a rock star in the 60's, signed with Decca record label and toured with The Who, Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Birds, The Animals) decided to buy me a drum set. This was a used ugly assed red Slingerland jazz set (Which I still have today!). After learning the basics, I graduated to a brand new Pearl Export black and white zebra striped drum kit.

My first band was called Incubus believe it or not back in 1986. I was heavily influenced by all the 80's hair bands, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Cinderella, Ozzy etc. After 20 years of searching for the right fit, I think I have finally found that in 80 Proof! In 2006, I got to play in front of 8000 people at Reliant Stadium and I have to tell you I am living my dream!

I use Pearl, DW, and Roland V-drums, Zildjian and Krest Black Series Cymbals. Even when not playing the V-drum kit, you will find that all my acoustic drums are triggered through a Roland td-10 brain.
